Process

Our process is structured around three main stages, helping guide your project from initial concept to completion.

  • We start by getting to know you, your lifestyle and how you want to live in the space. Together, we refine the design brief and establish a clear vision for the project.

We then undertake a detailed site investigation, including site analysis, measuring and a review of relevant planning information, overlays and site-specific controls.

The design is explored through floor plans, diagrams, image references and material suggestions, before being developed into a basic 3D model.

  • Once the schematic design is approved, we move into the preparation of drawings that describe the building in greater detail. These drawings are used to support council approvals, permits and compliance with relevant building regulations.

During this stage, materials, finishes and key details are further developed, reviewed and approved.

We also coordinate with relevant consultants as required, ensuring the design is properly considered across planning, structure, services and other specialist areas.

  • As your project moves into construction, we remain involved to help guide the process. This includes regular site visits, communication with the builder and updates to keep you informed along the way.

These visits help ensure the building work aligns with the drawings, design intent and level of quality expected for the project.

Contractor Selection

There are two main ways to select a contractor. As your design progresses, we will discuss which approach is best suited for your project.

  • This process involves sending the drawing package to selected contractors to prepare quotations. We usually approach 2 to 3 contractors so you can compare pricing, availability and approach. We then help you review the quotes and select the contractor best suited to your project.

  • This process involves sending the drawing package to one trusted builder to prepare a quotation for your project. We then work with you and the builder to review the design, materials and construction methods, making sure the project offers the best value for the available budget.

With this approach, the builder is often brought in during the early stages of the project, helping us test costs as the design develops and keep the project aligned with your budget.
